I can't believe it's been over a month since my last update! It's really hard to recap, but I will do my best.
I finished the National Breast Cancer Marathon again. Surprisingly, it took me longer this year than last. I strained my left gastrocnemius during the 26 mile training run January 15th, and it came back to haunt me during the marathon. I had to stop more than halfway through to get an ice wrap (which melted by mile 23), and again at the finish line. I also had a bruise on the bottom of my right foot (under my big toe) which didn't surprise me, because it began hurting less than 10 miles in. It was a truly humbling experience. The Mr. has been away on business. He left for VA the day after the Super Bowl and was there for a few days; then, the day before he was to return, I received a text that he would be headed to AK Sunday (the day of the marathon). I was crushed, because he was such an awesome cheerleader for me last year, and I'm convinced that was another reason why I did so poorly this year. In addition to missing the marathon, he also missed our first Valentine's Day as a married couple, but it's really not that big a deal, since we've only spent 3 out of our 10 together. He's still there now, but he should be home late tomorrow night/early Friday morning. Things have been much better between us, because I've been making an effort to be more "active." I haven't been taking my blood pressure and anti-depressants, because they've been suppressing my . . . mojo, but the biggest culprit is the Seasonique. Of course, I can't stop taking that, because we'd have a whole other "problem" on our hands. Not that we don't want to; now just isn't the best time. We're going to visit my family in FWB this weekend, so I'm pretty excited. It will be our first time seeing them since our wedding. I need a change of scenery, even if it is only for a weekend. Well, it is way past my bedtime, so I'm going to call it a night. That is all.
