This was my first time riding with the group, and apparently I still hadn't figured out how to correctly use my bike. The Mr. ended up leaving me on the first major incline, so I got off and walked. I got back on at the top, determined not to let it get to me, but ended up getting left behind again. The group shaved off 2 miles from the planned route, because I was struggling. My husband left me again, but the group leader stayed with me the whole way back, so I wasn't totally humiliated.

Today was my first time running with the Mr. and it was great! We started off 2:1 to weed through all the walkers, but continued at 1:1 ~ 12 mile pace. After mile 2, he wanted to continue running without walk breaks, but I wouldn't. He ended up leaving me right before mile 3, but I finished just 7 seconds after him, so I'm pretty pleased. Oh! I also broke in my new Brooks (Glycerin 8) today! Since he was kind enough to run with me, I figured the least I could do would be to ride with him and the running peeps tomorrow. Pray for me . . .
Oh! Our first attempt failed. AF showed up nearly a week early, so I'm pretty confused. Guess I'll stick with monitoring my BT and not rely solely on the app. We'll see . . . Let's see if I can stick to this blogging thing (again). First, let's get you caught up to speed. Since I wrote last, the Fall semester started. I am taking two classes, but only one has started. I am retaking MGF 1107 to correct an "ugly" grade from a previous attempt (or two). I've fallen a little behind, but am catching up. My next class starts next Monday and looks to be a bit challenging. It's just WST 2010, but there's a paper and project due. Both classes end December 16th, so I'll keep you posted.
My husband was able to score better tickets than I could afford to the Jags game (thankfully I found out before I bought them), so we went and had a ball. It would have been better if they'd won, but c'est la vie. I ended up getting him "Pulp Fiction" on BluRay, since it's his all-time favorite movie. I pre-ordered it, so it arrived on his birthday! It seems small in comparison to his gifts for me, but it was all I could afford. I found an app called Period Pace and have been monitoring my basal body temperature (amongst other things). I'm sure it's a longshot, but I pray our first "attempt" was successful, even though it'd result in a July baby. This is a lot to keep track of, especially for someone who never really paid attention to these things anyway. I'm sure that's more than anyone needs to know, so I'll move on. We ended up dining in for our first wedding anniversary, but it was nice. He developed the cameras we had on the tables for our wedding guests, so we looked at those while we waited for dinner. Our cake was still delicious after having been frozen for a year, and we enjoyed 1/2 pint each of ice cream! October 1st I successfully completed the Jacksonville Marine Corps 1/2 Marathon, race #1 of the Tri-2B Tuff Challenge. Tonight, I registered for the Subaru Distance Classic and the Jacksonville Bank 1/2 Marathon, races # 2 and #3. Oh! I almost forgot! The Mr. and I will be running the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure together this weekend. Considering he runs faster than I do, this will indeed be a challenge, but I am thrilled he agreed to run with me! |
