the ramblings of a 38 year old SAHM/"WIFE AFTER GOD"/triathlete in training

I'm on a mission . . .

Let's see if I can stick to this blogging thing (again). First, let's get you caught up to speed. Since I wrote last, the Fall semester started. I am taking two classes, but only one has started. I am retaking MGF 1107 to correct an "ugly" grade from a previous attempt (or two). I've fallen a little behind, but am catching up. My next class starts next Monday and looks to be a bit challenging. It's just WST 2010, but there's a paper and project due. Both classes end December 16th, so I'll keep you posted.

My husband was able to score better tickets than I could afford to the Jags game (thankfully I found out before I bought them), so we went and had a ball. It would have been better if they'd won, but c'est la vie. I ended up getting him "Pulp Fiction" on BluRay, since it's his all-time favorite movie. I pre-ordered it, so it arrived on his birthday! It seems small in comparison to his gifts for me, but it was all I could afford.

I found an app called Period Pace and have been monitoring my basal body temperature (amongst other things). I'm sure it's a longshot, but I pray our first "attempt" was successful, even though it'd result in a July baby. This is a lot to keep track of, especially for someone who never really paid attention to these things anyway. I'm sure that's more than anyone needs to know, so I'll move on.

We ended up dining in for our first wedding anniversary, but it was nice. He developed the cameras we had on the tables for our wedding guests, so we looked at those while we waited for dinner. Our cake was still delicious after having been frozen for a year, and we enjoyed 1/2 pint each of ice cream!

October 1st I successfully completed the Jacksonville Marine Corps 1/2 Marathon, race #1 of the Tri-2B Tuff Challenge. Tonight, I registered for the Subaru Distance Classic and the Jacksonville Bank 1/2 Marathon, races # 2 and #3. Oh! I almost forgot! The Mr. and I will be running the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure together this weekend. Considering he runs faster than I do, this will indeed be a challenge, but I am thrilled he agreed to run with me!

I seem to be making a habit of lying . . .

. . . at least when it comes to keeping this blog. I consider myself to be an honest person -- often times, to a fault -- but I truly lack motivation when it comes to expressing my feelings. I hired a life coach shortly after my last post, and, I must say, it has truly been an eye-opening experience. As for the evaluation I mentioned, I faired pretty well, but not as well as I would have if she'd done it 3 weeks later (her words). She noticed a major change in me since hiring my coach and said to keep it up!

Things are going great with the Mr. He's been traveling aLOT lately and was gone the days leading up to (and the day of) my birthday; but, it was awesome -- despite having to work for the 1st time in 13 years -- thanks to him! I'm trying to come up with $$ for Jags tickets for his birthday, but I may not be able to swing it with being in "the hole" for tuition and books costs. I'm seriously considering looking into scholarships, because this is expensive!

Oh! We're still "on track" for expanding our family. I stopped birth control last week, but must lose ~ 30 lbs. according to the books I've read for prime fertility. My blood pressure has been within normal range since cutting out caffeine too! I haven't had any in 4 weeks, and last night my BP was 121/80! This was definitely a cause for concern, as I've read so much about hypertension and pre-eclampsia. I took a readiness test and we're pretty much there; I just have to get my BP and weight under control (and he has to cease alcohol for the next 90 days). Vamos a ver . . .
