the ramblings of a 40 year old SAHM/"WIFE AFTER GOD"/SPRINT triathlete

Happy New Year!

Yeah, right. Once again, no New Year's kiss, hell, no hug for that matter. He just sat there staring at the TV, so I kissed the back of his head a few times. This is, however, the first year in a long time that he wasn't on the phone or texting someone as the ball dropped (although, he was doing it up until then). A lot of good that did me. Every NYE (at least every one we've shared together, including the one in Times Square) it's the same old thing; everyone/everything else is more important than where he is. So, here I sit sipping -- guzzling really -- the same bottle of champagne I couldn't get open in time last year (which didn't matter anyway, because he was holed up in the home office "chatting" online) while he has decided to go to bed. Ironically "Love Is A Losing Game" by Amy Winehouse is playing. Don't get me wrong. I love my husband, and he does a lot for me, but often times I wonder what goes on in that "gargantuan cranium" of his . . .

I suppose there may be a silver lining: he gave me "Insanity" for Christmas and said he'd do it with me (although he will not work out with me)! So, I'll do my Fit Test Monday (January 3rd) and then it's ON! I suspect the hardest part will be adhering to the "Elite" diet plan, but I will do my best! But, I digress.

This is no way to start a blog; then again, how would I know? This is my first attempt. I figured I'd try something new, you know, with this being a new year and all. Perhaps I should start by introducing myself. My name is Kay Dub (not really, but that is a nickname given to me by my then boyfriend, now husband 2/15/03. It's funny how I remember the exact date . . .) and I am a 32 year old newly wed mother of 3 -- well 4 -- fur babies: Barkley (who lives with his grandmother), Oscar, Augustus BKA Gus and Charlie, who is really my "step-fur child". I wish I had something more to add, perhaps something that would entice you to actually give a hoot about me and want to read my blog, but unfortunately, that's all I have. Then again, I am currently training for my second marathon in addition to starting the aforementioned "Insanity" (a Beachbody workout program hosted by Shaun T) Monday. That could be interesting, if you're into that kind of thing.

I guess I should call it a night/morning while I try to come up with something more interesting to discuss. BTW, I am also starting Project 365, so I will be adding pics daily (lucky you). That is all.
